Abstract

RIVANIO NUR DWI KUSUMA. 21410010. 2026. Evaluation Of The Adequacy Of Feeding For Superior Iaard Of Balitbangtan’s National Chicken In The Layer Phase At Setya Farm KUB Salatiga City, Central Java Province. (Supervisors: SRI WAHYUNI and HASNA FAJAR SURYANI). The study aims to evaluate the feeding management adequacy of Superior IAARD (Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development) Native Chickens (KUB) in the layer phase (>20 weeks) at Setya Farm KUB, Salatiga City, Central Java Province. The evaluation focused on assessing the effectiveness of local ingredient-based feed mixtures on several parameters, including daily feed intake, feed nutrient content, egg production, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), and mortality rate. Furthermore, this study intended to verify the nutritional quality of the feed through laboratory testing to ensure compliance with nutritional standards and analyze economic efficiency regarding egg production costs. The materials used in this research included 50 female KUB chickens (layer phase, 20 weeks old) and a local feed mixture consisting of 10% BR1, 30% K36-SP-JT layer concentrate, 20% pollard bran, and 40% ground corn. Supporting equipment included digital scales for feed weight measurement and feed containers. The research method employed was a case study survey using a quantitative descriptive approach. The results showed that the nutritional quality of the local feed mixture at Setya Farm KUB contained 9.96% moisture, 13.79% ash, 17.04% crude protein, 5.32% crude fat, and 3.58% crude fiber. The high nutritional quality correlated directly with field performance parameters, as indicated by an average daily feed intake of 101.5 g/bird/day (equivalent to a protein intake of 17.30 g/bird/day ), supporting an average Hen Day Production (HDP) of 56.5%. Production stability was followed by high feed efficiency with an FCR of 3.55 and a 0% mortality rate. Consequently, it was concluded that the local feed management at the study site is optimal. It is recommended to maintain the current local feed mixture formulation as it has proven to deliver optimal production performance.
